Waffles and Pancakes for Dinner
Dede: Wafflemania is in Ringway on the same road as Pippas gym. It's on google maps so put your data on and find it.
Ash: I love the decor at Wafflemania. Their multicolored wall just makes the entire ambiance so light and fun but more so their booth seating has won my heart. I will drag bae or besty or mummy even daddy there any day to just chill and sip on some yummy yummy ice tea. Order the passion fruit ice tea, it’s a winner.
Dede : The multicolored wall is so cute. Do it for the snap, do it for the snap. The passion fruit is definitely a winner. Here’s a little tip: Order it with no ice and get ice on the side, you get more ice tea. Don't try this at Coco Lounge though *sideeye* they'll give you a smaller glass and ain't nobody got time for that.
Ash: The pancake was fluffy and light, it wasn’t too thick like my Americans like it, which was perfect for me. It was light and warm and ever so yummy. It is the perfect blend of pancake and Oreo and I absolutely loved the chocolate syrup topping. I really came full force with my sweet tooth today.
Dede: The pancakes were yummy. I love that the Oreos in these pancakes were not flat, neither did they taste like the warehouse. Every Ghanaian has to know that warehouse taste when it comes to imported goods, the absolute worst. The pancake was not too thick so it's doesn't take time and effort to chew and swallow and it didn't taste like batter either, you can tell the struggle I've had with American style pancakes. I’m still not on the chocolate team so it was perfect with a side of maple syrup. Fluffy delight.
Honey Crumble Crepe
Ash: I was quite pleased when this crepe was served and I saw the crumble bits all over, and I mean all over. The Wafflemania kitchen is never stingy with its serving sizes and neither are they with their toppings. The crumble topping was chewy and sweet, to match or at least resemble the pastry portion of a crumble. The creamy honey sauce that topped this was a lovely sweet, warm addition. Wafflemania was really winning me over at this point.
Dede: Ash won't give me credit for choosing this winner. This is my absolute favorite! It appears in my dreams and day dreams sometimes, it's that good. You have to order it with the honey sauce which is a warm creamy sauce, that paired with the crumble bits and warm crepe is everything. It's just yummy in your tummy.
The Oreo Delight
Ash: But how can one grace Wafflemania and not try out a waffle, I mean how? So we went ahead and ordered the most gigantic waffle, chocolate, Oreo, whipped cream art piece you have ever seen in Accra, or I have seen at least. By this point I was full and poor tummy Ash wasn’t sure she could handle any more sweetness. Yet together we ventured, although extremely sweet, the combination of flavors was just right and definitely did not overwhelm you. I loved the warm waffle and the melting whipped cream that slowly drenched the waffle. On its own, the waffle could be better, it tasted a little pastry-like to me, rather than light and hearty it was a little dense. But all in all, their waffle, whipped cream, Oreo combination was defs winning.
Dede: At this point in time, Ash’s and I’s eyes were bigger than our stomach. I told Ash no waffle but she said lets do it for Accra Craves. You see the things we do for you. Our waffle had Oreos, whipped cream AND chocolate sauce. The sweet waffle didn't win my heart though. It had a cakey consistency and crumbled easily. That paired with all the toppings was a sugar explosion in my mouth. They have 3 types of waffles and we chose the sweetest, I really don't know what we were thinking. In hindsight, we should have paired it with savory goodies, which is yumma. Try the Brussels waffle BLT with boiled eggs and maple syrup, you'll thank me later.
Dede: You defs have to go to wafflemania for a dessert date and for that honey crumble crepe and the ice tea with ice on the side.
