Dede: The Irish Cream is basically a Baileys cake. Duh, I know Baileys is Irish Cream but just educating some of my tea-tea, milo-tea, coffee-tea honneys out there. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m not a fan of meringue icing. It tastes like air. Win my heart with buttercream or cream cheese any day. Those with less of a sweet tooth will love this icing as it is more airy and definitely less sweet. This cake is irish cream flavored and it’s a bit more dense compared to the other options but altogether it’s good cake. I cut my cake into two and realised it was 50% filled with icing. The icing to cake ratio is 60:40. Where they do that at?
Ash: I totally agree with D about the density of the cake, the ingredients were definitely off somewhere. Like the cake had weight guys. Anyway, it was your standard baileys cuppy and I love my Baileys cuppycakes, it was pleasant to taste, both the icing and the cake but there were other cuppys I liked more.
Dede: This cake was moist and was a flavorful coffee cake. The icing contained coffee specs and because of the intense flavor of the coffee beans, this was actually the only icing that was memorable. It was one of my favorites. It’s crazy how chocolate/coffee are becoming my favorites. I’m being pulled over to the dark cake side. It will be so yummy with a cup of tea for my real and fake Londoners out there.
Ash: The mocha cuppy was hands down my favorite cupcake. Coffee junkies put your hands up! Me myself and my ten fingers high up in the sky can attest to the legitimacy of this mocha cupcake. If you love the smell and taste of a fresh cup of hot brewed coffee, then you’ll be dying for this cupcake. The icing literally brought the cupcake home for me. It was just so perfect, not too sweet it completed the cupcake in an amazing burst of flavor and happiness. Mocha cupcakes are the way to go.
Dede: This was also another flavorful lemon cake. I love the fact that the cakes at cuppycake house are actually flavored. Let me tell you, that is a huge huge plus. This lemon cake is an airy number.
Ash: The lemon flavor was both heavily infused in the cupcakes and the icing. Not too sweet, not too tangy, the cake was light and yummy. Will definitely be one I tell you to order.
Dede: You know what I hate, when people say strawberry cake but infact get some dye and turn that vanilla cake pink. Aunty, that is tie and dye cake with one color. This cake is actually a strawberry flavored cake.
Ash: I just realized, how does Dede know what air tastes like? Anywho if you are like me and don’t know what meringue icing is or you thought she meant an actual meringue, press this link for help. Personally, I thought some of the icing was more on the whipped cream side of town, I definitely didn’t catch any butter or cream cheese icing in there. But it was all very smooth and silk like for the mocha and apple crumble cupcakes, perhaps that was the meringue feel you caught. The strawberry cake was strawberry cake and very yummy too.
What we sampled:
Dede: I loved it. I loved the apple feature, the texture, I just loved it.
Ash: The texture of this cupcake was similar to that of the Irish Cream cupcake for me, it was quite dense almost pastry like. The flavor of the cupcake made it even more pastry-like for me. I’d have it again but it definitely wasn’t my favorite cupcake. I didn’t really get apple or caramel in there as well, definitely not like I got the coffee flavor in the mocha cuppy.
Chocolate: A rich filling bundle of chocolate joy. The whipped cream-like icing was an amazing addition. Their chocolate cupcakes will take any chocolate lover straight to chocolate heaven.
Vanilla: Well it was a Vanilla cake.
Presentation: I love the presentation. It's neat and cute and their boxes are the cutest pink bundles.
